We have received official approval from Gladney to adopt!! So, that means that our homestudy and I-600A form has been received by USCIS. Now we wait to get our fingerprint appointment so we can get that done. From now until we get their approval, it should take about 75 days. Once we do receive that, we will need to take a trip to the closest Honduran Consulate to get a letter from them, which is in New York City. At that point, our dossier will be complete and on its way to Honduras, which should be in October!
Honduras requests that much of the dossier is no older than 5 months by the time it reaches Honduras. So, we need to update many documents which include Dave's employee letter, my homemaker letter, medical forms, and our State Police letters, which we need to be fingerprinted for again.
The last set of fingerprints we had done took about 4 weeks, so we are thinking it will take that long again. Everything else should be done by the end of August and our dossier will be in the process of being apostilled while we wait for USCIS approval. This is all seeming so much more real now!
We were in the system June 13th and just received our approval from USCIS this past Saturday, July 30. Hopefully yours wont take 75 days either!
ReplyDeleteDo you mean "in the system" after being fingerprinted, or when they received the I-600A?
