After the research.....

....we have made two decisions.

1.  We are using Gladney Center for Adoption
2.  We are adopting a baby girl from Honduras!!!!!

The agency considers under the age of 2 a baby.  We are fine with a 2 year old, but if we are able to get younger than that, that would be great.  Our biggest thing is to make sure that our future child is younger than Evan.

The Honduras program is brand new and a Pilot Program, meaning that there have not been any referrals yet, so we are sort of going into the unknown.  We hope the process goes as smoothly as it sounds, but you're not guaranteed that with any adoption.  Honduras requires two trips during the adoption process.  One will be about a week, and for the second one will be living in Honduras for a month, and then we will get to bring our daughter home!!!  We are expecting this whole thing to take about 2 years, which works well.  Evan will be around 3 when his baby sister comes home.

We have a few more steps before this becomes officially official.  We will have a phone orientation tomorrow night.  It will be over the phone because the agency is located in Texas.  The other thing is an orientation with our caseworker, Lindsay on March 7th in Waterville.  And of course, the formal application needs to be completed, which we hope to do on Monday!

Here is the flag of Honduras which you will see in the playroom at our house, and it's meaning:

The Honduras Flag has three horizontal bands of equal size and two colors, blue and white. The two blue stripes are on two sides of the white band which has five blue stars located at the center of it. The year on which the national flag of Honduras was official effective is 1866. The five blue stars depict the five members of the federation of Honduras. The color scheme of the Honduran flag is in line with the colors of the flags of other Central American countries. The two blue stripes signify the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean on either side of the country.
